BigArtTO featuring "Prometheus", co-created by Denzel Arthur, Roshan Leynes, Brian Nguyen and Isaak Shingray.

Presented with OCAD University

Wednesday October 13 - Saturday October 16, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm nightly.

Returning to our best-attended BigArtTO location in 2020, OCAD University Students will once again animate the façade of the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant. Originally the site of the Victoria Park fairgrounds, the construction of the R.C. Harris complex took over nine years, occurring from 1932 – 1941. A popular site for the City of Toronto's Doors Open program, the structure is still an active water treatment plant. This custom and site-specific artwork will take into consideration the building's history, purpose, and art deco designs.

Prometheus, co-created by Denzel Arthur, Roshan Leynes, Brian Nguyen and Isaak Shingray, is an award-winning digital performance where two factions of digital agents struggle to redefine their environment and thrive.

OCAD University, the largest and most comprehensive art, design and media university in Canada, encourages students to explore animation across disciplines. This collaboration with BigArtTO provides opportunities for students to explore media art, graphic design, drawing and critical practices as they relate to the moving image, interactivity and the virtual. The focus is on innovation, experimentation, imagination, creativity and critical thinking.
