BigArtTO featuring “Inside Out” by Yasin Osman and Jamal Burger
Presented with Nia Centre for the Arts
Wednesday September 15 - Saturday September 18, 7:45 pm to 10:45 pm nightly.
The photographs presented in this series were shot around Rexdale with support from the local community.
Yasin Osman is a mentor and an award-winning recognized by National Geographic and has worked with brands such as Nike, Redbull, The Toronto Raptors, and VICE magazine. Today, Yasin works with youth in underserved Toronto neighbourhoods while taking photos and making cartoons.
Jamal Burger is a photographer, born and raised in Toronto. He shifts his focus between the city and sport through his work, often in a black and white perspective. Since 2014, Jamal has been sought out by acclaimed brands such as Jordan, Nike, Apple and more. His fascination with documenting the now to showcase years down the line has brought him into new, exciting places to expand his perspective and further gain experience in his everyday photography.
Nia Centre for the Arts is a Toronto-based charitable organization that supports, showcases and promotes an appreciation of arts from across the Afro-Diaspora.
About BigArtTO: Explore Art Across The City
Experience art illuminated at BigArtTO, a city-wide public art celebration featuring free access to temporary public artworks projected onto local buildings and landmarks. Created by Toronto artists, the projections will play on a loop so that visitors can arrive at any time. Part of ShowLoveTO.
