Idalina Leandro's Angular Translucence is an exploration of shape, depth and colour through the lens of analog technology. This collection was originally exhibited in coffee shops during the COVID lockdown in Toronto in mid-2020 as a way to make the community feel connected through art. "My inspiration came from the feelings of being trapped and confined at home. It was a meditative process and most of the images I do not remember making as I let my feelings guide me."  

Luis Cisneros' video-art, Encuentros/Encounters, explores the theme of connectivity and highlights the importance of nature. In this time, when the pandemic is making us examine what is happening with our planet, it is important to reflect on the connections within the natural world. Two organic kaleidoscopic worlds encounter each other, creating beautiful connections for the spectator. The symmetrical composition is reflected by its counterpart mirrored upside-down and joined in the middle of the screen. A sense of surreality permeates through different scenes and emotions. Two worlds encounter a third, which is the world of the spectator.  

About BigArtTO: Explore Art Across The City

Experience art illuminated at BigArtTO, a city-wide public art celebration featuring free access to temporary public artworks projected onto local buildings and landmarks. Created by Toronto artists, the projections will play on a loop so that visitors can arrive at any time. Part of ShowLoveTO.

BigArtTO is the result of a collaboration between the City of Toronto with OCAD University and AVA Animation & Visual Arts Inc.
