Description

This installation is a new presentation of Nour Bishouty’s photographic series Adraa’ Samar, which showcases ice works made from molds created by Bishouty’s father, who made and sold souvenir objects for shops in Amman, Jordan, during the 1990s. This installation explores cultural, religious, national, and personal iconographies within the context of public space. It also considers impermanence and change regarding collective and personal histories, as the ice works are melted more rapidly through the warmth of the body and direct contact.
