Description

Aspire to Inspire brings the dynamism of public art to an interior space. Our goal is to make audience feel they're walking among members of the community. Through interactive ways for the audience to engage, including community programs and a shared community platform for people to leave comments and quotes, we hope to connect viewers to the abundance of talent and energy in our community. Jane Street Speaks was founded by Nathan Baya, an artist, spoken word poet and dancer born and raised in the Jane and Finch neighbourhood. Nathan came from humble beginnings from two Congolese parents who raised him. Drawing on his art at a young age, Baya used his artistic talent to redefine what his community means to him and the world. In addition to opening doors for other artists, he strives to inspire others with his own work. To him, this is the true definition of following the way of his ancestors. “Each one, teach one!"
