On September 1, 1980, after running 5,373 km in 143 days, Terry Fox was forced to stop his Marathon of Hope due to the vagaries of cancer. His legacy and good works live on in so many ways, including this newly completed Tribute Mural to be formally celebrated at an event this Fall

A signature project of ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021–2022, the City’s StreetARToronto (StART) program has partnered with U of T and The Legacy Art Project to create a mural commemorating Canadian legend and hero Terry Fox.  

The Legacy Art Project is a citizen-funded public space initiative dedicated to the spirit of courage, determination, and action that Terry Fox embodied.
