Description

This artwork will be available from February 1, 2022 - April 30, 2022

The Backbone Slide is an interactive multimedia art installation that celebrates the strength and power of the Scarborough community for being the backbone of Toronto. This visual salute, draws inspiration from Scarborough Artist Maestro Fresh Wes’s seminal hit ‘Let Your Backbone Slide’. Using key Scarborough landmarks in its design and culminating with the creation of a community “backbone”. This community-engaged experiential installation features visual renderings and holistic activities that focus on spinal fitness as a way to highlight the massive way that Scarborough provides so much support to the way that Toronto thrives. It also serves as a reminder to take care of the thing that gives you the most support - your backbone.
